Sleep Deeper LLC is marking 5 years since inception and as part of our anniversary, we are excited to offer two $2,000 scholarships. The scholarships are available to any college student enrolled in an educational institution in the US and taking a degree in health sciences.
The $2,000 scholarship grant can be used toward course materials, books, and other educational resources.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
- Current students already studying at an accredited U.S. college or university
- U.S. citizens (international transfer students are eligible if enrolling in a US institution)
- Planning to or already currently pursuing a health science related degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
- Have a minimum 3.00 GPA currently
How to Apply:
To apply, please write an essay of between 2500-4000 words on the following topic: Can You Catch Up on Lost Sleep?
Your essay MUST address TWO main areas (both must be covered to have a chance of winning):
1 The importance of sleep in for your health. Cover the following:
- How does sleep affect our lives from a health perspective?
- What happens when people neglect a proper night’s sleep?
2 Discuss whether or not you can catch up on lost sleep. Cite scientific references.
What We Are Looking For
Your essay must express your opinion in a thought-provoking and creative way. We are looking for an original, well-researched, and factual piece of content.
Submission Guidelines
Send your essay as an attachment to scholarship@sleepdeeper.net. Your essay should be written in a Word Doc.
You should also provide the following information:
- Your full name, telephone number, and mailing address
- The name of your academic institution (If you have been accepted to a school but haven’t started classes yet, include the name of the school you will be attending.)
- Proof of enrollment
- Your area of study
- Applicants should also provide a link to their Facebook profile. (Optional)
By submitting your essay to Sleep Deeper, you grant us permission to use your content on our website for marketing and promotional purposes.
Deadline
The submission deadline for the Sleep Deeper Fall Scholarship is September, 17, 2017. The winner will be selected on October 6, 2017 and notified via return email. The prize must be claimed within 1 month of the announcement date. This scholarship is offered twice every academic year (Fall & Spring Semesters).

When is the application deadline?

When will the scholarship funds be available?
The funds will be available for the 2017-2018 school year.
Is this scholarship renewable?
No, it is a single semester scholarship. New scholarships are available each year. You may re-apply each year.
How many scholarships are available? And how much are they?
Two (2) scholarships are available of $2,000 each.
How is a winner determined?
The winning submission will be the applicant who meets or exceeds the eligibility requirements and submits a creative and thought-provoking essay that answers the required question.
When will the winner be selected? How will they be notified?
A winner will be selected by October 6, 2017. Sleep Deeper will notify the winner by email. In the event the winner does not respond within 72 hours of the initial contact attempt, a new winner will be chosen.
What about eligibility verification?
Prior to collecting the scholarship award, the winner will be required to verify their school status, GPA, and other eligibility requirements.
Can I mail in a paper application?

How can the scholarship be used?
The funds may be used for tuition at an accredited university or used to cover other educational expenses at an accredited university.
